Easter with Shadow Applique

My sweet daughter came to visit last week so I've been off the radar. But in my tidying up I found an Easter quilt I made some years ago. The process is unique using three layers to make the blocks. The top of each block is organza. The second layer is the background fabric with fusible applique. Below that I used a thing batting. The task is to stitch around each piece for color and security. It was a very relaxing activity similar to hand quilting--another favorite of mine.

I used deeper colored threads to bring out the color of the applique.

Maybe it's a bit of picture overload but I had to show you just a few with color. The bunny blocks are primarily brown stitching.

Finding pink fabric in my stash was an enormous task. It's a color I don't work with much. Give me bright colors any day.

Have a good holiday.

  5. I love how the rick rack adds to your quilt. I've never done, but been tempted. You give me a good reason to try.
