On Ringo Lake Week One

Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville has a new mystery quilt on her blog. Week one has been a lesson in being careful. Here's a link to the other quilters week one blocks:

It was also fun picking through my stash to find the right colors. She has the colors she is using picked from Valspar paint chips. That was extremely handy.

This is my first attempt at Quiltville's mystery quilt and I am finding it an attempt to work out of my normal quilting.

Quilt Doodles 2016 BOM Finish

I'm catching up with my projects in time for the holidays. A finish to my Quilt Doodles 2016 BOM quilt  is a gift for me. I did not use the designer's setting to keep the quilt  smaller. It was so much fun piecing those small pieces and revisiting my Christmas stash!

This picture was taken yesterday as the sun was setting hoping to get some true colors.

This is Mount Gorgonio in the background. We've been experiencing warmer than normal temperatures.

Quilt Doodles' patterns are of the "darling" variety. I have a start on her Ugly Christmas Sweater mug rugs (can be used for ornaments too). Well, one completed and one in the waiting pile. A friend of mine made 15 and they were put to use at her Thanksgiving dinner. She was making it an ugly sweater day for family. I have appliqued most of the blocks for this year (2017) but haven't appliqued them to the background fabric. The setting pattern is wonderful with the blocks on point.  It narrowed down my scraps in the 1930s bin of fabric. For these blocks she also embroidered some of the patterns. Sweet.

Here's a picture of the 2015. I didn't use her setting design on this one either. Don't you just love the whimsy patterns?

From Under My Bed: Chapter 3

More finds from under my bed to share. Shame on me.

Yes, it's a panel. But I did have to add the borders and quilt it--does that count as a quilt? Great colors and a delightful panel. However, it's a panel and maybe that lowers my feeling for it That's why it's been packed away. I'm not a flowery pink person either.

Here's a shot in evening glow. Yes, I like it and yes I'll keep it and perhaps display it somewhere.

This quilt is also a panel. Very cold looking like fall can often be. The only requirement was piecing the border blocks. It's a very masculine-looking quilt and I'll keep it out for fall.
