Quilt Doodles and Row by Row Quilt

Also, here are my wreath blocks for Quilt Doodles BOM. The two green colored block went together quickly. However, the scrappy one was a pistol. It required a bit more concentration--and maybe I was just over thinking the block.

The small 1 1/2" blocks were fun to work with. The small triangles in the center look tricky but it is just a hal square triangle and then repeat with background color and cut.

Our oldest son is here and found all the missing quilts. Seems the maker stacked them on the guest room bed to keep the folds out. Hey, it works. He also thought he could put stuff under the bed. He uncovered one of my favorite quilts using Nanette Merrill's pattern and  Pam Kitty Morning's fabric. I've shown it before but time for a rerun. It graced my living room couch for a while. I couldn't keep my hands off of it.

Oh how I had so much with this one. The colors, fabric and pattern belonged together. I like the addition of some handwork on the blocks as well.

Check out these log cabin blocks. The nice bright colors against the light fabric jump with joy. I wish I could find more patterns that warm my heart, eyes and fingers as this combo did.

I found this backing fabric in 90 inches sitting in my stash. Even though it is a bit lighter in color it is still an addition to the quilt.

Red, White and Black: Tote and Towel

Do you ever want to make something now and push your other project(s) to the back seat? That's me. When I finding something I want to make, immediately the fabric starts flying.

I've had this cute Canine Chronicles fabric with full intentions of making a tote for my daughter or granddaughter. Granddaughter is an editor for World Book and loves dogs so it was appropriate fabric to add to the fabric already in waiting.

This is a quick and easy pattern using about a half yard of two colors of fabric. this could be number 24 on the list.  It's one of Robin Gallagher's  patterns. I like it because it is French seamed and looks a bit more professional than some of the easy totes. I've added a front pocket for coupons or keys.

I've made several of her patterns and taken a class from her. She makes her patterns basic and easy to follow with lots of photos.

Then at Jacquelynne Steves' blog
there's this delightful butterfly applique pattern. This came to the forward part of my list and am glad it did. Later when I have time, I'll add some embroidered stitches across the bottom. It looks like fun in the kitchen.  Do you remember the Joys of Jello cookbook? Many great oldies to recreate in there.

Here it is hanging in the kitchen.
