Spooky Delights Table Runner

Halloween is on its way and I finally finished my Spooky Delights Table Runner which was a sew along at Jolly Jabber of Fat Quarter Shop. See pattern here: Spooky Delights Table Runner

Two of us in my one sewing group decided to make it--no one else joined us. She finished hers long ago and I'm lucky to have it for this year. I wanted to use glow in the dark thread around the appliques but didn't. You know how you start something, get so far and quit and then have to motivate yourself to get it completed? That's me. It's such a cute pattern and simple to  put together.

My plans were to embellish with a few goodies from my cabinet. Maybe when I bring it back for next year. Then it'll be like a new quilt.

The block below is from last year's BOM from Quilt Doodles Designs. I know. Bad picture. It was raining out. It's our first rain since May 6th so I can't complain.

Fall?

The calendar says fall but it sure has been hot here. Today the skies were beautiful with big puffy clouds. I hope that's a clue to cooler temperatures.

Wool applique hand work has taken over my evenings while I watch the end of the baseball season and the start of the football months. It's great to have something to keep busy with now that the nights are coming earlier.

I have two quilts to show you. Both are for philanthropy and using their fabric. This baby fabric stole my heart. Yep. The world stopped while I tried to figure out a quilt for it. There were some fat quarters and yardage. I'm making a different pattern for the next one. It's just not put together yet.

Maybe it's just that I am old that I love this fabric. Sew so sweet.

I also acquired some of the sock monkey fabric charm squares. There were only seven of the red and different counts on the others. It was an easy, quick quilt.

Perhaps I'll have some of my wool applique to show soon. It's fun and easier on old arthritic fingers.
