It is getting close to my turn at "It's for the Birds" blog hop so I thought I'd share a set of embroidered quilts--one recently completed as I busy myself with the camera and my birds.
The dresses quilt began in the heat of last summer. It was good to stay in the air conditioning and sit by the light from the window. The blocks were so charming it was hard to put down.
The pattern is Stitching Betsy's Closet from Acorn Quilt and Gift Company (this is not an ad) and was originally an applique pattern. It is only 24" x 29" but big in fun.

The designer then offered Benji's Pockets in a redwork pattern. However, I wanted to have it similar to the dresses' quilt and it was easy to just stitch in the colors of the sashing blocks. It doesn't have the details of the little girl quilt but it was the process that was the most important part.
Here are the center blocks. The itty bitty corner stones are pieced.

I love the dresses quilt. The cute little corner blocks are adorable! Great job and I'm looking forward to seeing your birdie project! The little boy quilt is cute too.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. Very nice stitching and I love the blocks around the clothing.
ReplyDeleteI have been working on this quilt but sat it aside. I have two blocks embroidered. I am inspired to get it out right away and get back to it. I didn't know about Benji's pockets. Your projects are so beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteYou do beautiful stitching. Great job on both. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow - excellent. I love this quilt. Super.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your quilts are fantastic and so adorable, thank you for sharing and they both look beautiful. Jane
ReplyDeleteThis design is the sweetest!
ReplyDeleteSee as often as I'm by your blog....I missed this adorable post! Perfect one to rejuvenate under our embroidery theme. I especially love the colors of the girl themed one:)
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are so adorable and they inspire me to think of getting some hand sewing going myself.
