Flip Flops and Other Stuff

Here's my Quilt Doodles Designs BOM (check the right side of my blog for more). It was quick and easy but several could make a fun quilt. Seems to me I've done one before. In fact it was a pattern from Fons and Porters' magazine.

For the flower, I did a bit of Petal Play to give it some dimension. I must admit the block took no time at all. I almost feel guilty.

I can remember if I ever shared these table toppers. I bring them out for the summer. The first one is from a pattern where you cut circles, stitch around and flip, then sew them together.

This one below was from a magazine and I kind of changed a few things.

And now a question of you. I've had this hanging in my guest bedroom for about ten years and I am tired of it. I bought it at an auction so there's no memory attachment to it at all.  It's a nice window frame and even has the lock. The quilt is old but I do not know how old. Of course, it is hand quilted. If I sell it, how much should I ask?

Keep your quilts close to you, even though it is warm.

  1. I think a lot of people have those flip flop appliques. I have one in a Nancy Halvorsen book that I use. I am awful with pricing my own handmade things, so I have no idea what to tell you about the framed quilt. Perhaps a "make reasonable offer" and see what happens?

  2. I love the flip flops. They are adorable! And that framed quilt is gorgeous! I'd love to find something like that around here. Love!

  3. Lovely! The flowers certainly adds texture and lots of interest. That was an excellent idea. The block looks at its place next to your succulents. :-) And a quilt made with many of this block would be really cute.
I love how you've made the first table topper. It's beautiful and is a good opportunity to use matching fabrics. The ones you chose are definitely perfect for summer. I love how fresh it looks. Have a great weekend!
